Concord, MA – Cambridge Savings Bank has been named the Presenting Sponsor of the 15th annual Emerson Hospital 5k Run ~ Walk for Cancer. The community-wide event, presented by the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary, will take place on Saturday, May 30 at The Thoreau Club, 275 Forest Ridge Road, Concord. The event raises funds to support cancer care at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital - Bethke.

This is the first year that Cambridge Savings Bank has sponsored the event. According to Ellen Poisson, Concord Branch Manager, Cambridge Savings Bank, “We are a true community bank. Cambridge Savings is deeply involved with supporting the financial needs of local people and families, while Emerson supports the health care needs of people in the community. It is a natural partnership for Cambridge Savings and Emerson Hospital to work together to help the community thrive.”

Each year the Emerson Hospital 5k Run ~ Walk for Cancer brings the community together with a common goal of supporting care for cancer patients at Emerson. “The cancer center not only provides expert medical care, but also is attentive to the human and emotional side of the illness,” said Sally Savelle, President of the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary. “We are fortunate to have such exceptional cancer care so close at hand and are very grateful for the generous sponsorship by Cambridge Savings. Their sponsorship has a direct benefit to cancer patients and their families in the 25 communities served by Emerson Hospital.”

This year, the event will feature a timed 5k Run, a 5k Walk, a one-mile Fun Run for children ages 5-12, awards ceremonies, a BBQ and family activities including swimming, tie dye tshirts, an inflatable obstacle course, volleyball, badminton, access to the pool and more.
