Cambridge Savings Bank Awarded by Cambridge Family and Children’s Services

Cambridge, MA – Cambridge Family and Children’s Service (CFCS) awarded Susan Lapierre, Senior Vice President of Community Relations and CRA Officer at Cambridge Savings Bank, The Avon Children’s Friend Award – an annual award to recognize and honor an outstanding individual for their commitment to children and families in Cambridge and the greater Boston area. CFCS presented the award to Susan Lapierre at the annual Circle of Friend’s Gala on May 17.

“We are so pleased to honor Susan this year for her ongoing support of the families and children we serve. She is an inspiring advocate for CFCS as well as the entire nonprofit community in Cambridge,” said Bob Gittens, CFCS Executive Director. Susan Lapierre links her passion for community-based non-profits with the banking industry’s critical role in community reinvestment. She oversees corporate giving from CSB, the Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation and the Bank’s community outreach efforts. “I am thankful to Cambridge Family and Children’s Service for receiving The Avon Children’s Friend Award,” said Susan. “It’s truly an honor to be recognized in my role of serving the community for CSB.”

Susan has organized multiple programs in support of CFCS which include holiday drives for children’s wish lists and financial education course for teens aging out of foster care and the families of CFCS. She has also served on the Gala Committee for four years. As once a foster mother of three children, Susan understands the importance of organizations like CFCS and she constantly seeks opportunities, recognizing the needs, to support the families and children in our communities.
