Cambridge Fire – Cambridge Community Banks Join Together
Cambridge, MA – In true community spirit, Cambridge Savings Bank, Cambridge Trust Company and East Cambridge Savings Bank have joined together to support the victims of the devastating 10 alarm fire that destroyed at least 11 buildings and displaced 48 families (125 individuals), on Saturday, December 3rd. The Banks donated a combined $15,000 to the Mayor’s Fire Relief Fund to support our neighbors during this time of need.
“We live and work in this community, we are very much a part of it – what has happened to our neighbors is unimaginable – as local banks we share this concern and believe this comes with a greater responsibility to give back to those around us” said Wayne Patenaude, President and CEO at Cambridge Savings Bank.
“Cambridge is a community of compassionate people who join together to help those in times of need,” said Denis K. Sheahan, President and CEO of Cambridge Trust Company. “We are grateful that through community support we can collectively assist those impacted by the Cambridge fire to begin to rebuild their lives.”
“We at East Cambridge Savings Bank are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that affected our friends and families in our community. We stand behind the communities we call home and we want to provide assistance and support to those affected by the tremendous loss. By joining forces with the Cambridge Banks, we can collectively make a meaningful donation to give these families a happy holiday and a sense of stability during these hard times. East Cambridge Savings Bank will continue to provide its neighbors with additional support efforts.” stated Gilda M. Nogueira, President and Chief Executive Officer of East Cambridge Savings Bank.
