CRE team leader optimistic about Boston’s varied investment possibilities

A rising rate environment can have a major impact on the commercial real estate market. Nick Donofrio, senior vice president and team leader of commercial real estate at Cambridge Savings Bank, shares his insights on how today’s rates are impacting the Greater Boston CRE market.

“We've stress-tested our CRE portfolio and we have concluded that it is more than able to withstand a rising rate environment … primarily based on two key factors,” he said.

In this podcast, listen as Donofrio sheds light on those factors and also discusses:

  • The future of Boston’s lab science and life science markets and what that means for investors.
  • The strength of the industrial warehouse space market in Greater Boston based on the increasing need in the past five years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Whether multifamily CRE is a strong asset class given the ongoing increase in Massachussetts’ population.
  • The outlook for commercial real estate.
