Protecting Your Personal Information
| Alert-There are an increasing number of phone and email scams being reported where individuals posing as bank employees attempt to obtain personal and banking information from individuals. If you receive a suspicious call or email related to your CSB account, do not provide the requested information. You should contact CSB's Customer Service Center at 888-418-5626 or your local branch. |
Securing your personal and account information is extremely important to us. By practicing good security habits, you can also help ensure that your private information is protected.
- Never respond to unsolicited requests for your social security number or financial data.
- Shred credit card and ATM receipts before throwing them away.
- Shred any pre-approved credit offers you receive, but don't intend to use.
- Check all credit card and bank statements for accuracy.
- Avoid easy to figure out access and personal identification number (PIN) codes. Never reveal your PIN to anyone.
- Store your card number and PIN separately, and never write your PIN on your card.
- Obtain a copy of your credit report yearly and check it for accuracy. The Federal Trade Commission warns consumers that annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY authorized online source for obtaining a free credit report under federal law. You can get a free report from each of the three national credit reporting companies every 12 months. Some other sites claim to offer "free" credit reports, but may charge you for another product if you accept a "free" report. Go to http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/freereports/index.html for more information from the FTC.
- Use only secure web sites when making online purchases. Secure pages begin with "https."
- Pay for online purchases by credit card to assure you get what you pay for and to limit your liability.
